I think I'm going to dual boot my Surface laptop.
I've lived in a house for the last 15 years with at least one computer running #Linux, but I've never actually done it myself.

Any recommendations for a distro for a weathered user, but first time installer?

The distro you have used the most so far would be the first choice
@vipaal setting up Slackware as my first project seems a little much from what I've been told.
We've used multiple distros, but I'm looking for one that's easier to implement, not easier to use.

@CassOfDunshire fair point. Installing #Linux on the #surface looks a bit involved, and I don't own one. If you have not already found it, https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/wiki/Installation-and-Setup lays out the steps for a large number of surface devices, and their feature matrix looks good too.
