Some accountability sharing: I started #YogaWithAdriene's new 30 Days of Yoga series "Center" #YWACenter. Spent the day helping a friend prep for a move, got home after dinner and still made it to the mat for Day 1! I've been doing yoga for a couple years but very on&off, last year I stopped halfway-ish, so trying to stay motivated for this year. I'll CW my follow-up posts on this so I don't spam y'all.

Wanna join these 30-ish min daily practices? Here's the Day 0 intro:

Center - Day 0 - Welcome

Worked a little late, but @rosstuck cooked dinner so I could relax and still do Day 2 of #YWACenter with the help of Tybalt. He was a very floofy pillow for my face coming back down from my Cobra, although planks were kinda hard. πŸ˜‚
Really did not feel like doing yoga tonight, but after some encouragement from @rosstuck managed to wrap up Day 3 of #YWACenter!

Worked late again to make up for some lost daytime with running some formalities downtown. Had a big lunch after doing all that, so I wasn't super hungry when wrapping up work on a positive note. Made use of that momentum to go straight into my next #YWACenter session!

Finding my balance on one leg (let alone trying Tree Pose) is hard again after so much time not practicing, but like Adriene said, it's just Day 4. I feel good keeping at it so far, despite my mental dip yesterday ☺️

Yesterday was my first time working on a Friday (switched around parttime day off this year) and had to go to the office to sign my new permanent contract (yay!) then followed by drinks with colleagues. So I got home late and didn't have the energy for more #yoga.

Instead I just did Day 5 of #YWACenter today now, and taking a break from all those planks ("Hug" made it sound like an easy session but it was not πŸ˜‚) before moving onto Day 6 to get back on the live schedule...

Aaaaand that's Day 6 of #YWACenter done too. I chose a poor couple of days to combine in one, my abs man πŸ˜‚ Also, Tybalt decided to wake up from his afternoon nap and come catloaf on my mat underneath my legs riiiight as I was doing those tabletop leg lifts, which did not make it easier as I was also trying not to inadvertently kick the kitten!

Another double #YWACenter session today, since yesterday we went for a mini hike around town and my legs/arms were way too noodly for #yoga. Plus Mondays are my days off from work now, so that's when I try to do some exercise beyond yoga, works out well.

So I started with Day 7, really enjoyed the flow once I knew the order. Then emkfit's kettlebell workout. And just wrapped up with the softness of Day 8. All with the "help" from kitten Tybalt again, of course.

Seems like doing two #YWACenter sessions every couple days might fit me better? I did start out yoga by taking Kundalini classes of an hour each, so that duration isn't weird as long as I start on time, and hard to find time/energy every day. Today was catching up on Days 9 and 10, and I really enjoyed that last one, despite the mountain climbers.

And now that I'm done, kitten's claimed the yoga mat for himself again. At least he mostly waited until after I wrapped up this time!

Last days were again busy with work and dentist appointments, but this Sunday morning doing Days 11 and 12 of #YWACenter to start off right. After not managing one-legged poses in a previous session, it was good to notice I could do that today! Though I stayed focused on just that balance rather than the extension offered after. And really enjoyed the Unwind session for other balance/stretch challenges after that, seems like a nice one to revisit once in a while and notice progress.
Forgot to post yesterday: Mondays are days off work, so I did chores followed by #YWACenter Day 13, where I had some balance challenges again in the one-legged poses but mooostly managed my way through. Then emkfit's kettlebell exercise with actual weight which went surprisingly well. Followed by the lovely stretches of Day 14 to round off: when @rosstuck came home from the office and I was in the midst of this session, I told him "I'm a pretzel!" 😁

Two weeks since my last #YWACenter - life happened, including a stomach bug last week. But today I wanted to get myself back on the mat, coincidentally and thematically picking this series back up on Day 15 to Reset.

I'm not going to push myself to do a double session nor the Monday kettle bell exercise, but just be content with getting back to this at all.

So hi, missed y'all on the hashtag, hope you've been doing well. Proud to see y'all making progress through these 30 days, wherever you are along the way, even if it's on a break like I was. It's all good.

Day 16 of #YWACenter after yet another busy workweek with working later hours than I should - this session was a great way to release some of that. Gotta say, the break helped me realize again what I'm missing if I don't claim the time for this. I feel busy/tired from work so forego practice, which then doesn't help me release that stress, so I continue being more busy/tired in my mind - vicious cycle. But it's nice to have a relatively simple fix just by coming back to the mat.
Day 17 of #YWACenter - yeah I'm not doing much better at rebuilding the habit to claim the headspace for myself, but at least I got back to the mat this one time again. Cat made it a bit hard to focus with trying to get my attention by stepping on the stove and later biting the blinds somewhere along the way, but otherwise pretty good. Upper body pretzel!
