I'm a bit skeptical of ChatGPT integration. We should not head down that path with Mastodon apps!
@jebba I haven’t noticed any integration in my usage over a few hours. Would like to see exactly what it entails before creating an opinion.
I just saw it in it's features:

@jebba got it. I’ll have to try it out first. I get that there are opinions for and against this nascent tech, but if it’s a useful implementation that helps me, then I would not have issues with it.
If ChatGPT helps you, but damages society, would you still feel the same?
@jebba when inflated to that degree, no reasonable person would argue against. But that’s the kind of question that traps you into answering in a single way. I’ll form my opinion with data gathering and personal experience to form an informed opinion before picking a side.
If it is using ChatGPT, it is also sending your data to Microsoft.
Would be a sad day if the average Mastodon client is just a human coaxing ChatGPT, feeding all the data to one of the largest transnational corporations in history.
I think we should be vigilant to #SaveMastodon !

@jebba right now I just had a meaningful discussion with you, two humans (I hope lol). If AI helps me fixing my typos or making sure I don’t exceed the character limit, then it enhanced our conversation. Again, I need more than preliminary opinions of potential implications before deciding if I’m for or against.
