Severe resource bottlenecks 2023+

- 220 GWh energy supply,
- 100 GWh for accelerators, 90 GWh for XFEL LINAC
- Helmium: 60,000 m³/year
- Nitrogen: 9,000 t/year
- Neon extreme shortage
- 1% of inflation above 2% means the lab looses 2M€

- we have to rescue the car industry, the … industry, the … industry, people should not freeze at home
- we are running into the danger that we are loosing the next generation of scientists and engineers

PETRA IV

We have to accelerate things in Germany.

DESY IV Booster: needs to be rebuilt; lattice is frozen, design progressing

In addition to the buildings actually used for PETRA IV, an own girder assembly hall to be built just to build and pre-align the components.
New access scheme without proposal deadlines; instead:
- continous reviews,
- continous scheduling;
- average waiting time down to 20 days, not several months.
