If you asked literally any Millennial about what GenX contributed to culture, they would say Airwolf.
@SwiftOnSecurity because they’re not that bright
@SwiftOnSecurity speaking as a millennial, what the fuck is airwolf
@jwisser sounds like your GenZ sorry
@SwiftOnSecurity how i know i'm a millennial: the boomers call me a zoomer and the zoomers call me a boomer

@jwisser @SwiftOnSecurity But whatever you are, you don't know airwolf. But that's fixable.

... love, GenX.

@jwisser @SwiftOnSecurity You can sit with us. We won't talk
@jwisser @SwiftOnSecurity cool show about a cool orca coloured helicopter. I remember being obsessed with it when I was 5. Now all I remember is what the helicopter looked like and the theme song.
@jwisser @SwiftOnSecurity I'm Gen X and I have no idea
@jwisser @SwiftOnSecurity I think this is maybe the Gen X/Oregon Trail divide actually

@michaelgemar @SwiftOnSecurity Sadly, this is where my mind when as well. Gen X gave the world Ernest Cline, and for that we will never be forgiven, nor should we.
@danhulton @SwiftOnSecurity I quite like some of his spoken word stuff, particularly this piece. But I have avoided all his writing, based on the reviews.
@michaelgemar I was enamored with his spoken word stuff back in the day, but some of it REALLY didn't age well, and some of it was honestly pretty icky back in the day, I was just pretty oblivious.
@danhulton That's certainly fair. I had hoped his output would move towards stuff like "Airwolf", but sadly that was not the case.
@michaelgemar It basically did, though! Airwolf is like a prototype for the nostalgia fetishism that he weaponized in Ready Player One.
@danhulton But that piece is much more ironic than his later work -- I read an interview with him about it where he admitted he wasn't actually a fan of the show. Ready Player One seemed far more the work of an unironic fanboy.
@SwiftOnSecurity you're welcome, you filthy ingrates.
@SwiftOnSecurity it’s sad how little footprint Blue Thunder left in the zeitgeist
@SwiftOnSecurity
Since when did Airwolf get owned by GenX?
@SwiftOnSecurity I'm hearing it in my head right now, and it slaps
@SwiftOnSecurity Airwolf was the Boomers, I’m afraid. Gen X gave you Friends.
@SwiftOnSecurity back when entire television program pitch = some guy relationship boss vehicle
@SwiftOnSecurity
I was 14, I didn't contribute jack.
@SwiftOnSecurity hey, we gave you pogs, but you broke them in a weird conceptual way that nobody understands
@SwiftOnSecurity If it wasn’t for young Gen X’s obsession with Speed Racer anime would have never have gotten big in the US. You’re welcome
@SwiftOnSecurity hahahahahahahaha
Did have a cool theme song tho
@SwiftOnSecurity Nirvana, grunge, Cobain, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Star Wars, Fried "This Is Your Brain On Drugs" Eggs, roach clips worn as earrings (that may have been only me who did that...)

@SwiftOnSecurity for us genxers, Donald P. Bellisario was the only TV producer except for 70s reruns and after school specials. Post and Carpenter created every soundtrack. And we had a glorious two to three hours of quality cartoons like GI Joe, Transformers, and M.A.S.K.

Knowing is half the battle!

@SwiftOnSecurity I once met the Airwolf helicopter in person!!

@SwiftOnSecurity do you think we in GenX give a damn what Millenials think about culture?

(Hint: it’d require us to give a damn, we grew up as latchkey kids with regular nuclear drills.)

@SwiftOnSecurity there is not a chance in hell any millenial knows what Airwolf was
@SwiftOnSecurity Airwolf! Not The A Team or Knight Rider, but Airwolf? I watched it but still. How about cartoons, like Transformers (not like they made a ton of movies), My Little Pony (the OG), He-Man or She-Ra? Airwolf 🤔
Knight Rider (TV Series 1982–1986) - IMDb

Knight Rider: Created by Glen A. Larson. With David Hasselhoff, Edward Mulhare, Richard Basehart, Patricia McPherson. A lone crimefighter battles the forces of evil with the help of a virtually indestructible and artificially intelligent supercar.

@SwiftOnSecurity and now the title track score is going through my head again. Damnit.
@SwiftOnSecurity
More seriously, it's Nirvana.
@SwiftOnSecurity Stringfellow Hawke. What a name!
@SwiftOnSecurity Before or after you change their diapers for them?
@SwiftOnSecurity c’mon, dude flys a helicopter from space and plays cello. The real deal
@SwiftOnSecurity I was told last week that I may need an eye patch for a short time and my first thought was could I get away with a white suit and glasses with a single blacked-out lens.

@SwiftOnSecurity Uh… Gen X were kids during Airwolf though…

Do we think it’s cool? Hell yeah!

@SwiftOnSecurity I loved Airwolf at that time 👌

@SwiftOnSecurity We are happy to watch millennials fight boomers. We'll just be listening to whatever and getting high, 😀. I think we are probably the least interesting generation to go after anyways. You can't really get to a generation that values nihilism as a core virtue.

I woulda guessed millennials would say Nirvana, but then, I am always surprised by what each generation finds cool.
