One thing that is turning me off from existing here is the constant complaining about Twitter, Elon Musk, Tesla, etc. That garbage is making Twitter unbearable. I had hoped to escape it here. I miss hearing about cool projects people are working on or people sharing news about other things in tech, or talking about favorite movies/TV shows, etc. Everything can't always be complaining about Twitter.
@brandonleblanc I’m currently really enjoying Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+ in the UK! Terrific fun! 🖖🏻 #StarTrek
@johnhood I am so glad its available there for you in the UK! I absolutely love that show. How far in are you in the season?
@brandonleblanc At the midway point. Savouring each episode.
@johnhood I really look forward to hearing what you think about the season finale! It's sooo good!
@brandonleblanc I’ll let you know, my friend! Hit it!

@brandonleblanc

Close to the first thing I did after getting here was set up a filter to discard all messages referencing any of those topics. It's nice to have that built right into the platform.

It would be nice to not have to, certainly, but it's really nice to be able to.

@cerebrate @brandonleblanc Definitely do this. Go to the Web UI of your Mastodon instance and add some filters. Makes it much nicer.
@brandonleblanc I can only post so many mediocre Apex Legends highlights man
@brandonleblanc it’s fairly pedestrian but it was a fun learning experience for me, I built an Azure Static Web App backed by a Function App to allow my D&D group to control the VM and software running our Virtual Tabletop so I didn’t have to give them access to Azure or the VM. Works a treat! That was my cool project over the holiday break.
