Saccades are locked to the phase of alpha oscillations during natural reading

We saccade three to five times per second when reading, but little is known about the neuronal mechanisms that coordinate the oculomotor and visual system. This study shows that alpha oscillations serve to time the processing between saccades and the visual system during natural reading.
