Made my ogham set! Going to meditate with the different fid and get used to reading with them 🥰 #Pagan #IrishPagan #divinationtools

@MegRadiant This is beautiful! I love that you made it yourself.

Did you use particular woods for each, or how did you determine what pieces to use?

@megmuttonhead I used the tree ogham for each piece! There is an Etsy shop that sells sets of the corresponding wood, then I prayed to Ogma, meditated, and burned the symbols.

@MegRadiant That’s truly lovely.

I live in Massachusetts, and I have long pondered creating a New England adaptation of the sacred trees. It would be so rewarding to do something similar, but with trees from my own landscape.
Of course, it would lack the background and history of traditional Ogham. But integrating each piece through prayer and sacrifice leant your tools a powerful connection they wouldn’t have had any other way.

Beautiful.

@megmuttonhead I think creating your own ogham associations would be amazing! Much more connected to a local practice. This is my first set, and I'll probably do something like that when the time comes to craft another.
@MegRadiant On the other hand, could be you wind up with such strong associations with these tools you’ll never want to change them! Personally crafted tools are the best...
