Known as the "splendid splinter" #TedWilliams was not only one of the greatest hitters in the game, he was also a combat veteran serving in both #WWII and the #KoreanWar. In his last #MLB at bat at #FenwayPark he hit a home run to cap off his 16th season in the big leagues.

#OTD in 1966, Williams was voted in to the #MLBHoF on the first ballot.🏆⚾️🏅
