Adding to this, people who see Russia as some progressive multipolar alternative seem to be completely forgetting about the tens of thousands of African students and other migrants living in Ukraine that the Russian invasion displaced.

To people who are like ‘well Ukraine and the EU treat African migrants horribly too’—yes, of course, but isn’t the Russian invasion making anti-racist work even more difficult?

My major regret is not doing more to support the #AfricansinUkraine campaign when the war began—that was such a important way socialists could’ve showed up en masse to hold the Russian invasion AND the racist Ukrainian state accountable while prioritizing voices on the ground.
