Our culture constantly pushes the lie that your value as a human being comes from what you do or produce or offer to others.
That's garbage.
You matter no matter what.
You are sacred just for being.
❤️
Shabbat Shalom.

@TheRaDR I'm trying to believe this.
Shabbat shalom.
@TheRaDR Bless you, for this affirmation. I believe we carry Divine #light & can access it through #poetry :

@TheRaDR It is indeed garbage. I'm old and was raised by strict old-school German parents. In that culture, you ARE what you do. Your vocation is the most important thing -- doctor, truck driver, farmer. When introduced it's the first question. You're instantly judged on that basis and pigeonholed into "your place" in society. I lived the first 40 years of my life with that world-view and I can assure you that it's not a good way to live your life.
Fortunately, 30 years ago, I realized this attitude is flat wrong. It changed my life and I've lived accordingly ever since.
@TheRaDR reminds me of testimony a friend of mine gave at city council. As a member of the local tribe they reminded everyone that city hall was built on the Tribal Gathering Place and it is their custom that every member of the community is important and cared for because they are part of the community. Not valued for what they can contribute.
It's lovely and the world I strive for. Thanks for the reminder.

@TheRaDR words that currently have no impact.
2 years ago today.... I had hope.
That promises were not empty.
That the seething anger from people who were assumed "it cannot happen" was outrage.
Not destructive hate
Maybe at the time I was right.
But not now.
@TheRaDR thank you. I know this, but it’s good to hear.
My wife has TBI/CFDS and I deal with massive anxiety related to needing to be productive, so we both often need to pause and remember that it’s ok for her to rest and me to relax.
