Someone commented on one of my projects that the NXP PN532 is getting old, and there are newer chips. I found a later NXP one, but not sure it does what I want.

I like the HSU mode, as it allows it to run on a short run of wires that are properly driven (rather than the pull ups of I2C).

I like the GPIO as I use these for status LEDs on the reader.

Anyone know of a newer NFC chip that does HSU and has a few GPIO?

@rena2019 That does look like it will do the trick. Different layout and design, and very different control and registers, so would be fun. But yeh, looks like GPIO and HSU. I'll have to get myself a dev board to play with.
