This week for #Fossilfriday we have another #Guess that #Lego #Fossil.

This #marine #reptile is the largest Lego fossil in my collection. Designed by Yobb, it measures in at over 1.2m long.

Reply and boost with your guesses and I will post the answer tomorrow (and to anyone who answers and guesses correctly)

If you want to build this one, instructions can be found here - https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=108058

Mosasaurus from BrickLink

Mosasaurus is a genus of mosasaurs, extinct carnivorous aquatic lizards. It existed during the Maastrichtian age of the late Cretaceous period, between about 70 and 66 million years ago, in western Europe and North America. The name means "Meuse lizard", as the first specimen was found near the Meuse River (Latin Mosa + Greek sauros lizard). As I live about 15 kilometers from where the first Mosasaurus fossil was found, I've always been fascinated by this lizard. And with the reboot of one of my favorite movie as a kid (you know, the one with the dinosaurs) I could enjoy this beast on the screen. It normaly have about 150 vertebraes but with the scale I was working with I had to reduce it so it would still look nice. The body is pretty easy to build and the legs design was found quite quickly. The chalenge was to attach the legs to the body while trying to respect the accurate anatomy of the mosasaurus. But the main difficulty was to design the head. I had to take some liberty in order to make it sturdy enought. The model can be displayed in various positions as all the vertebraes are hinged as well as the head. And the jaw can open.I hope you enjoy this build as much as I enjoyed making it.Thank you.

@TheDinosaurDave what a beautiful model! (I just clicked through to look) wow kudos to the builder! How do you display it?
@exkclamation i have it on display in Brisbane. In a lego store called #BrickResales
