oh no i think i hate gas stoves
this house is my first time ever having a gas stove. frankly i'm surprised it has one, since it's new construction. as a renter, there's nothing i can do about it. i think i'm going to have to get an electric kettle, at least.

@junosz the house we are in was our first gas stove, too. They’re horrible. I’ve always heard how great they are, but all if the advantages are so minor compared to the huge disadvantages that you are no doubt experiencing. I can’t wait to get away from this thing.

You can get a portable induction burner to use when you only need one eye, but then you have a thing you have to deal with in your kitchen.

@wukkuan yeah, we'll see how it goes, but that's an option I'm considering. Reading the wirecutter for portable induction options :)

@junosz

When started to observe induction stoves or cooktops used daily by professional chefs in restaurants, this piece convinced me to give it a try

A simple #portable #induction #cooktop that incorporates various functions like: warm, simmer, boil, pan/stir fry, hotpot. works better for all daily usages.

Key is trying different induction pans, to assure fast warming performance for a given model.

“I wouldn’t ever go back to gas.”

@teixi @junosz I love my induction stove/cooktop, I can get a rolling boil in a minute at high altitude. (Been smug about my choice)
