I've noticed a good number of the #introduction posts are people moving instances and then having to redo the post. I wonder if this is normal or if the main instances have become SO big that there seems to be a breaking point where they are TOO big? Mastodon.social is 921k accounts. I made a second account on mstdn.plus instance for my #LCS news account. There are only 10k accounts there, but since that account is mostly #LCS news posts I'm trying not to follow people and see where that go. 1/2
I'd really like a server for #taoism but I just don't have the time (or money) to self host. I REALLY want a #taoist community instance. Quick someone donate like $100 a month! LOL.
@patrickstewart You could do something smaller (in effort and cost), and still federate. I've been thinking of something similar (not in that it would be taoist, but centered on building a community with a specific ethos). Seeing as I've started and closed similar efforts so many times, though, probably won't again.
