I am reading Solnit's Guardian article β€˜If you win the popular imagination, you change the game’: why we need new stories on climate". My climate fiction novel, '470' is based on the (ironically) hopeful thesis that our inaction is dooming us to economic collapse, but that's a good thing that opens up so many possibilities. '470' does what the famous quote says is the harder job of imagining - "it is easier to imagine an end to the world than an end to capitalism"
@lindawoodrow Yep, change the story, change the world! Marketing and PR people know that the way to change beliefs is to change the story--it's a basis of George Lakoff's work. And why I write #solarpunk and offer workshops on creating a solarpunk future! I look forward to reading 470.
