@halcy Heck I'm going viral right now with nothing more than a silly pun!
@frostwolf @halcy Or a meme picture for the tech boomers :) It can go viral very fast!

@halcy Most of the anti-“going viral” posts I’ve seen are from accounts with thousands or tens of thousands of followers, oddly enough.
@halcy Or a donkey. Or named the name of John and/or Joan Mastodon.
@halcy And it goes on _forever_ as it ricochets around different circles of people, repeatedly spreading to new servers and new eyeballs. 😆

@halcy

I didn't but I did! 🤔

@halcy can confirme, posted a cat doing toot with a trumpet and received 1.5k+ notifications
@halcy "you can't go viral on the fediverse" says person enthusiasticallly recommending the fediverse
@halcy I wish this were my fluffy friend.
@halcy And can't forget moss! The #Mosstodon folks are always in for moss!
@halcy
I still have to silence boosts on my notifications after that comic I shitposted last month went so viral it was showing on like, every server I knew of and then some. I think it's over 600 boosts now...
@halcy It seems relatively easy to go 1k boosts viral but haven't seen anything go 100k boosts viral (yet)
@halcy My most viral one so far (500 boosts 900+ likes) was a picture of a red panda - but that's practically the same thing as a cat. (Or a dog. Or a racoon. Or a fox. Or a bear...)
@halcy probly
@halcy just that i dont have cats neither other pets
