I remember moving to Munich from Baltimore and how strange it was to be able to go anywhere in the city at any time of the day or night without having to consider the eminent threat of violence.

@jilliancyork I was saddened that in all the articles I read, there was this unquestioned discussion about whether the legal system would be able to punish anyone, and if so, who?

Those people all need help. Everyone involved.

Punishing the parents (who were definitely negligent leaving the gun out) is just punishing people for being fallible humans in an insane society that wants them to keep guns. It's all so sad and broken.
