Are #monarcy and #religion only #relics from before #democracy came?

It could appear that they in their era both managed to develop resilient organisations and traditions with convincing #ceremonies, #magic, #symbolism and #myth.

In the process they developed away from actual #military capability and collected great #wealth.

To the extent democracy works, monarchy and religion seems redundant.
