Our #greenhouse now has its final number of #avocado trees planted in the ground, with two more that were planted today. This'll be a quick thread profiling each of those trees.

First up, the oldest tree, a #Lula seedling (#No220) that was purchased from a commercial nursery already grafted with #BrazosBelle (the red line is that graft union), to which I added #RoyalWright (blue line), grafted in January 2021.

That same tree is a multi-graft with two year-old branches of #Duke (first photo) and #Joey (second photo), though the #RoyalWright branch has recently been grafted with four varieties (3rd photo), it's unclear yet which grafts will succeed.
The next-oldest tree is also a #Lula seedling (#No221), this one has a framework of #Choquette (first photo), with other grafts of #Aravaipa (green), #Duke (red), a #Mexicola seedling (#No53, purple), and #Linh (blue).

The third tree, which has been in the ground for less than a year now, is #No169, a seedling of a #Gainesville-area tree (likely #DelRio), which was grafted with #Jade (the main top part in the photo).

Last year, I added a graft of #WalterHole (blue), and let the rootstock grow a branch (magenta). The tree was from Oliver Moore (he's not on here yet, right @floridafruitgeek?)

Now for the first of the two trees planted today: this is a seedling of #Zutano (#No227), grafted with #LongSouthGate, a variety selected by Marta Matvienko from a Los Angeles area backyard tree. It's a Mexican type, with extremely long fruit. Hopefully this one will start bearing in 2024.
And lastly, a #Hass seedling (#No161) that was donated by a neighbor, grafted with #Teague.
