Saudi Arabia’s infiltration of Wikipedia is another example of a serious trend in censorship that I hope we start to understand better. People have a habit of brushing off authoritarianism in other countries because they think it’s happening there, not here. But it’s not that simple! The world is far too connected, there are no real borders between the flow of information. Censorship of speech elsewhere very like also means censorship of the speech you access, too.
