Morning! Another cold one.

#CatsOfMastodon

Today’s plan is pretty simple. REST. I overdid it yesterday and this morning my #sciatica is really bad again. So:

- re-do my #Babka introduction post as I’ve now made this my only Mastodon account
- #Hebrew study
- #CPTSD therapy exercise
- read, music, later TV.

No this is not #Shomer #Shabbat but I will not be working.

Not going for a walk as yesterday my calf cramped up when I did and I barely made it home.

Turns out I have to go for a walk as we don’t have lunch or dinner. 😭
The sun is going down. So, er, my #shabbat was mostly taken up with a documentary on the Holocaust, pain from the sciatica and feeling dizzy due to medication side effects. I did my Torah study yesterday but I do have some thoughts today.

#Parsha #Vayechi really made me think about mortality and what is left in the world after those of us *without* children die. So much of #Judaism is centered around family and much of the first book of the #Torah is about the lineages of children of Abraham (after Noah).

I think for #queer people in particular, we may be childfree/childless and so genetically we leave nothing behind to carry on our story. So what is our place in Jewish history?

Anyway, I guess I want to say that this #parsha got me in the feels unexpectedly.
