In the future AI technology will play video games for us. You'll say "Computer, play Doom" and a message will pop up saying "You have won Doom." This will free up valuable time for doing more work
@alexanderblechman The implementation for this won't even involve any actual AI, you just press a button and a message pops up. It will be a subscription service and cost $20 a month.
@evilroda @alexanderblechman the message doesn't even change because of weird spaghetti code;
"Computer, play Outer Wilds"
"You have won Doom"
@sekoia @evilroda @alexanderblechman can't wait to read a lot of game reviews that all boil down to "getting some real Doom vibes from this game"
@alexanderblechman work being making new prompts for the AI
@boab @alexanderblechman see I'm gonna be so rich because while everyone else is busy coming up with their own prompts like total suckers, I'm just gonna say "Computer, give me a list of prompts to suggest to you that would get me promoted by my boss"
@ravindra @alexanderblechman we just need it to execute commands on the net: make me money by setting up a profitable company and maintain it.
Game over!
@alexanderblechman you joke, but if play-to-earn ever gets traction ...
@robsws @alexanderblechman what, like twitch?
@osmaff @alexanderblechman it's a dystopian concept dreamt up by those trying to make Blockchain gaming a thing https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain_game
Blockchain game - Wikipedia

@robsws @alexanderblechman living in a simulation end goal lol.
@robsws @alexanderblechman if you squint at this, it's bitcoin ๐Ÿคฃ
@alexanderblechman To be fair, I could have done with this for those Dark Souls games.
@alexanderblechman I want the AI to do work for me, so I'll spend 8 hours a day crafting the perfect prompt for each task I need to be done.
@fabioromeu @alexanderblechman no problem, I'll work 9 hours to train an AI to give me the perfect prompt for an AI to do my task
@alexanderblechman you just have to be careful not to get sucked into watching the AI play your game. Timewise, that would be very counterproductive.
@alexanderblechman Always knew we were at the forefront of... something with our self-playing games https://paidia-institute.org/laboratory/feedback/
Paidia Laboratory: feedback

@alexanderblechman In the past, you played games against AI. Today, you are the AI.
@alexanderblechman My AI can then play your AI-generated game. We both win.
@alexanderblechman finally a solution to grinding games to 100% on steam

@alexanderblechman

But who can work with the AI playing Doom on the blender?

@alexanderblechman work like making games for the AI to play so they don't get bored and start killing humans just for fun.
@alexanderblechman I don't know you yet but I already hate you. And in a perfectly logical move, I'm going to hatefollow your account.
@alexanderblechman Actually Iโ€™d welcome this for Darkest Dungeon.
@alexanderblechman Thank you. Inspiration for an upcoming chat with students on AI in the classroom.
@alexanderblechman @PavelASamsonov good. I was afraid they were gonna do our work.
@alexanderblechman
Who programmed you?
More work? We need the time for more play and creativity. And cats.
@alexanderblechman
We will have much more time for playing simulations of pressure-washing the outsides of buildings.

@SpeakerToManagers @alexanderblechman Ah, thatโ€™s a thing: โ€œPowerWash Simulatorโ€

Of course.

@alexanderblechman AI wonโ€™t be able to do my 10k run and thatโ€™s more important.
@alexanderblechman when is AI going to write and send my toots?
@alexanderblechman @bigzaphod This is how a (much) older coworker sarcastically reacted to my story that Iโ€™ve bought a TiVo back in the day. โ€œSo, it watches tv for you? Thatโ€™s very convenient.โ€
@alexanderblechman If the AI has any ounce of intelligence, it would say โ€œyou are doomed in 30 secondsโ€. ๐Ÿ˜œ
@alexanderblechman I'm gonna be called a fucking ludd in the future
Can an AI BEAT the Mushroom Cup in Super Mario Kart SNES?

YouTube

@alexanderblechman
It's already the case in some games without AI.

Baritone, please get me some diamonds, a diamond-pickaxe, get 20 stack of stone, and build this schematic of this beautiful castle. (one day, the castle biome chunks will be 3D diffusion model like Stable Diffusion) and one day, minecraft will be a strategy game where you control multiple actor accounts at the same time.

@alexanderblechman Aimbots are just a tool. Old players should adapt or at least take their entitled complaining off the... no, off /our/ servers. I say this with some authority as I'm one of the best fps players out there now, with over 230.000 concurrent headshot-bots dominating CSGO servers. Like, get good or go home. It's not my fault that you old farts only survive 8.3 frames on average.
@alexanderblechman
@allenholub
I am not sure anyone ever won Doom, based on what the end video showed.
@alexanderblechman At some point, I suspect the AI will be paying to watch us play
@alexanderblechman I'm thinking I'll outside grinding in one game so I can enjoy the story in another
@alexanderblechman I rather play myself and let the AI do the work ;-)

@alexanderblechman

I would actually love this for the stupid hard parts of games that are inaccessible for me.

#accessibility

@alexanderblechman
ProgressQuest was so ahead of its time
@alexanderblechman
Dang, I could have saved about 1500 hours of playing the Fallout series.
@alexanderblechman In the future elders will have home care companion robots. They will look like humans and perform tasks that care assistants do now except they will live in. They will even be able to drive and take their charge to medical appointments and to do their shopping. ( this is if the planet still exists and we with it)
@alexanderblechman my grandchildren will manually mint coal to feed the local bitcoin machine so that in their free time a SaaS AI can display novel prompts letting them know they beat video games
@alexanderblechman Reminds me of George Jetson's exhaustive work day of pushing one button.
@alexanderblechman Sort of like VCR's watching movies for us.
@alexanderblechman โ€œComputer, let me feel enjoyment from not actually playing a game I won!โ€
