I need your help...

Every day I put out a post to encourage people to Toot about their lives. Mundane or interesting.

I do this is to keep the social aspect of Mastodon alive. It's easy to forget, in a world of niche content, all of the things that make us who we are.

When we share our lives, we can see ourselves in others. We can see what makes us different, and yet the same.

That's beautiful.

So PLEASE, if you see any of my boosts with #today in it, BOOST it.

Let's keep Mastodon social.

@Mrfunkedude

When I first arrived here from that other place, there were posts galore telling us to "boost, boost, boost."

I also prefer to see posts written by a person I'm following, whether the posts are personal stories, information, or opinion pieces, than all boosts. I think we are busy though, and with so many bright and informed people in the #Fediverse, it's easy to boost than to write.

@sandearl @Mrfunkedude I just wish my depression and social anxiety would stop making me think I have nothing to say.
@zaxusemk @sandearl @Mrfunkedude One of the reasons why I haven't posted on my own in a while. I start to, and then meh.
@zaxusemk @sandearl @stabforddeathrage most of our lives are β€œmeh” to us because we’re so used to it. However everyone does things a little differently and someone might be interested in how you do things.

To clarify a bit:

It's not that I'm thinking "should I post this? Maybe, maybe not..."

It's my brain saying "do I have anything to say at all? Nope, got nothin."

Which I know isn't actually the case, but is a symptom of my depression and anxiety that I find very difficult to overcome.

When I'm not depressed, I'm honestly shocked that I actually DO have opinions and thoughts. But when that shit takes over, it's like a month of nothing to say.

Sucks.
