Should I become interested in sport?
@PastaThief Depends. :) (Signed, a sports fan.)
@bright_helpings What do you follow?
@PastaThief Baseball, and to some extent cricket and rugby.
@bright_helpings Do they have women's cricket? What's cricket like?
@PastaThief They do have women's cricket! I saw the final of the women's cricket World Cup before the pandemic, and it was great! I've seen other women's games too, I much prefer it to the men because the players work harder and don't seem to let their egos get in the way of their playing.

@bright_helpings Very difficult to find broadcasts of though, women's cricket. And even when there is, the 'production quality' the broadcasts is dramatically different from those for men's cricket.

@PastaThief

@emacsomancer I assume you're talking about TV, I only bother with the radio really (it's better as a new fan too because they explain more if you don't know everything that's going on!) and it's easier to find those and the quality is about as good as the men's games. :) @PastaThief

@bright_helpings Yeah, for video streams. I hadn't thought as much about radio/audio-only (just more used to watching video, I suppose). I'll have to remember that though, at the very least as an alternative when there aren't video streams available.

@PastaThief

@PastaThief as for what cricket is like...there's lots of different kinds, some are fast and eventful, some take their time and are more about strategy. It's like "what are books like?" when there's everything from short stories to epic novels.

Cricket is a sport with a racist and colonialist history but a diverse and energetic present.

@PastaThief I think it depends on where you live. Following sportzball in Minnesota is a tragedy.
@PastaThief what sport?
@Cryptika I dunno! I was thinking of maybe women's soccer/football, or curling? I don't follow any sports right now.
@PastaThief what about the sport of kings, pro wrestling?
@Cryptika Nooo. I can't do inherently violent things like wrestling or boxing or anything along those lines. It gets to me.
