The fundamental issue is not all people will act to maximize equity (in the sense of fairness), so how to get the best outcomes (including equity, productivity, and sustainability)? If we stipulate that all economic systems have a history of faults, perhaps you will agree some are better in certain applications than others and all have their limitations/need blending.
