we started reading a book called "The Theory of Almost Everything" by Robert Derter - we're currently on page fourteen...

...and the author has gushed about how awesome the Standard Model of Elementary Particles is, like, at least six times already? sometimes for a page or more straight?

I ... don't want to tamp down Derter's enthusiasm - the Standard Model /is/ cool, that's why we wanted to read a book about it - but the repetition feels a trifle redundant...

Update on "The Theory of Almost Everything" by Robert Derter: little bit of a shaky start, but we're on page 21 now and just hit this diagram - this book is great now

Just realized: the style of this Theory of Almost Everything book makes more sense if we think of it as a blog post published on paper.

...just realized: this probably isn't the only book we should be reading from that perspective.

...well, that was an unnecessarily horny legend about Erwin SchrΓΆdinger told on page 61. Could have maybe mentioned it was gonna be a little risque before launching into it, Dr. Oerter.

...wait, shit, have we been misreading the author's name this entire time? That's embarrassing πŸ˜“
