It's time I think to answer the burning #question of the day! #BestTFs2022

1) What's your #favourite #Transformers (or related-ish) figure that _you got_ in 2022? Doesn't matter how old it is, just that you got it this year!

2) What's your #favourite #Transformers (or related-ish) figure that was _released or announced_ in 2022? Doesn't have to be one you got, something you're looking forwards to is just as valid

Bonus points for #Pictures and #ToyPhotography, and for boosts!

My #BestTFs2022

1) Has to be DX9 La Hire. An #Unofficial #TheLastKnight Hot Rod with a transformation that's just complex enough and a beautiful rendition of both forms.

@digitalraven I might do post with best of 2022 but I like question 1 going a bit wider including new purchases of older stuff.
Botropolis Rescue Mission has been a real highlight for me. I love the modulators and micromasters together there is so much in that set to just mess with.
That said, I also got Titans Return Arcee and she is so precious. Simple transformation but study and easy to mess with. She has a good alt mode and her robot mode has some character, a bit more armoured up.

@ShadowInTheVoid That's why I did question 1 the way I did. So often I'll buy an older figure and I like it just as much — if not more — than anything released during a given year. And clearly it's resonating with other people, such as @pytyrh's set of G1 Throttlebots.

I actually got a good deal on a Botropolis set, after missing it on discount a couple of months ago. Can't wait for it to arrive and get it connected to Sky Lynx!

@digitalraven @pytyrh I think I payed £40 for it, for 2 Deluxe, 4 Micromasters and a big rocket that is steel.
I picked up Skylinx later for the full experience but he takes up too much room to fit on my desk.
Victory Shuttle on the other hand works well with it and is a bit more reasonable size (Siege Astrotrain is also an acceptable option)
@ShadowInTheVoid That's how much I found it for as well, so I don't feel like I missed a bargain. And I've had Sky Lynx for a while (gotta love the great egotistical ponce), though he doesn't live on my desk because yeah, he's huge. Though I mix and match what's on my desk and related surfaces pretty often because I have mercurial tastes (which are definitely not just ADHD by another name šŸ˜‚)
@ShadowInTheVoid Gotta admit, I didn't love Siege Astrotrain, though I don't quite know why. I'll see how it feels all connected up though, that might change my mind.

@digitalraven There is issues but there is a lot to love too.
Thinking of his feet attachments as roller skates helps.
You can weapon up the train mode with the 2 side guns on the tender, join the other 2 up and use the middle peg to attach it as a cannon.
Shuttle mode too can be played with a bit. I've just given up on the missile pod.

My only permanent desk bot is Earthrise Prime with TR Bumblebee in his trailer.

My #BestTFs2022

2) This has been a fantastic year for #Transformers toys, there's no two ways about it. But the one I'm most looking forwards to getting my hands on is #Legacy #Evolution Tarn.

Finally, an official figure of the pretentious masked leader of the Decepticon Justice Division, and it looks SO GOOD!

@digitalraven Two of my favorite #Transformers toys this year were nearly the same character: Studio Series AoE #Galvatron and Legacy #Velocitron #Scourge (Black Convoy). Big black trucks, big mean robots, transformations that are complex without being complicated.

As for the future, the one bot I’m probably looking forward to the most is #Haslab #Deathsaurus .

@mighty_orbot I do like Legacy Scourge, though I've seen some gorgeous upgrade kits that would push it even higher up my rankings
@digitalraven
1) Favourite TF I got this year but not from this year are my complete set of G1 Throttlebots.
2) Favourite TF thing released this year has been the Lego Optimus Prime. A thing of beauty (no photo of it on my phone tho)
@PytyrH Oh, those Throttlebots are gorgeous! Only ever had Wide Load as a kid, and I don't think I appreciated him as much as I do now.
@digitalraven Same! I gave my Wideload away to a young cousin who was interested in TFs a few years ago. This year I decided I wanted them all!

@PytyrH Grand! Nothing like a full set.

In other news, I've not yet got a look at the Lego Optimus Prime in person, but the more I see pics the more I want one.

@digitalraven Lego Prime is expensive (like all Lego) but was good fun to build. I love the fact it can transform and the way the transformation becomes apparent while you build him.
@PytyrH Okay, that sounds really cool. Definitely not cheap, but that's what wish lists are for.
