It's dumfounding how in nearly 2023 US #healthcare is still using the fax for sharing medical records #healthtech #wth
@johnpodlasek 💯 ripe for errors, lost information, and poor security.
@brs165 Totally for all of those massive concerns. Not to mention all the time wasted making, "Did you get the fax? No? OK I'll call them again to send it" phone calls. It's like the Flintstones, not the Jetsons...
@johnpodlasek My doctor's office won't accept emailed record information. Faxed or delivered in person. It's actually caused some issues for me.
@johnpodlasek
Absolutely! And each individual is required to keep track of different "portals" for each specialty they see instead of having a comprehensive record for each patient into which the specialists add data. Grrrrrrr!
@johnpodlasek Patients could literally have their own online "instance" with all their records in various digital formats. The instance could be shared and updated via health professionals, and the records read/downloaded by the patient.
@johnpodlasek I’ve been waiting on one for 6 days. I wish I was kidding.
@robinbrenizer Ugh, sorry to hear that. I drove to the doctor’s office to get a hard copy after a few days of calls, etc. Hope you get yours soon.
@johnpodlasek In Germany, healthcare uses faxes quite a lot. It sorts out a lot of data protection issues.
