Recording advice?

I have a #Zoom #R20 multi-track recorder (it's touchscreen!).

I also now proudly own a #neural #quadcore #dsp modeling pedal.

I have #Reaper installed on my PC.

My question is, do I actually need a DAW with the first two?

I could really appreciate some guidance. Even if it's very low-fi, I'm hoping to start recording ASAP.

@Shh for the recording phase you won’t necessarily need a DAW. if you want to make something out of the recorded material, #reaper is a good choice.

Thanks! This makes sense.

So like- rough cuts, live-ish material, practice, that all goes straight in to #Zoomr20.

Editing via #Reaper and laptop.

I am totally a novice to this so I appreciate it.

If you like the workflow of the r20, you should be able to do everything on that no problem. If you want to use other effects, or cut up takes, it might be easier in reaper.
