I studied #philosophy for a while, was pretty serious. Dropped it when I realized it's not what I wanted to become. Philosophical thinking and the magical insights of human reasoning inherent appealed to me, but I found at a certain level that philosophers loved their wisdom too much. It wasn't for me. But I love to discuss philosophy and address general subjects through that lens. I'm rusty, but if you come to me with anything in #Epistemology, #Ontology, #Ethics or #Metaphysics —

(cont'd) I'll likely understand what you're talking about. If I don't, I'll learn. Philosophy is a life-long tool, after all. People I consider philosophers in the truest sense, foundational to my own reasoning, are #JosephCampbell and #GeorgeCarlin. Campbell for his breaking down of societal-level memes found represented in mythology as they stem from individual, psychological and behavioral sources (no small feat). Carlin for his ability to cut through the shit.

@Malleus Well, I originally started down the road of philosophy trying to improve my writing. Found a lot of my favorite minds and writers consciously or not touched on the field. Naturally, I went back to writing after. Have nothing to show for it for now, but that's where my true passion lies.

How about you? What got onto the path as an Alchemist?

@TheJaunted That was purely by accident. I had a mystical experience during a trance about 7 years ago that led to it. Prior to that I had only a passing historical interest in the occult.
I have a BA in Philosophy but I mostly majored in hardcore partying. I didn't "get into" reading Philosophy until many years later.
I never knew what career path to take so I didn't take one . This is my 25th year as a factory safety technician. I write songs and play music for fun. Nice to meet you.
