@daniel @godpod Derfinitely something to be angry about. Especially :trangender: people who can't go to the womens' shelters because those shelters are run by the Salvation Army--which is NOT an actual charity, and they discriminate against LGBTQIA2S+.

@godpod churches need to both

1) be taxed;

2) be enforced regarding the fact that they are not allowed to be political.

if a church helps the homeless, or does charitable things, those are deductions on tax returns.

@godpod I think the only Megachurch you (God) ever intended is the whole earth. Everyone included, everyone welcome. Beyond that, seems like it’s just supposed to be small, diverse communities of folks who find themselves on the some of the same paths and are trying to be good neighbors.

@godpod my wife and I were just talking about this. Our main city held its 2nd annual candle light vigil to combat homelessness.

I don't get it. Donate $, open your homes, help at a shelter with clothes and food.

@godpod It would be disingenuous to say that the modern-day church is terrible, but through history religion, in general, has done very terrible things. Mega churches are a blight on society. We should never be comfortable with a multimillionaire pastor. If they're doing their job right, they should be comfortable, but seeing to the needs of the poor and not buying Bentleys and Mansions with followers' donations.

@godpod YES! Have they never read the Bible? I've come to the conclusion that most people are lazy and they depend on what other people tell them. This puts you in an especially weak place with regards to what you believe.
