Just received the email that Ninty Fresh #08 Winter 2022 is out.

https://www.nintymedia.net/products/ninty-fresh-08-winter-2022

I'm not affiliated with Ninty Fresh in any way.
I just want to share this labour of love which I've been subscribed to myself since the start, in case others might be interested as well.

Ninty Fresh #08 Winter 2022

@OutofPrintArchive I'll definitely consider subscribing, thanks!

Sweet! The more the merrier.

This reminds me of Nintendo Force magazine, which is kind of the US equivalent that sprung-up after Nintendo Power magazine was shut down. Run by ex-writers and fans, but not controlled by Nintendo.

I might check out NinteyFresh since Nintendo Force only comes out every 2 months, so I can get more frequent magazines this way.

It looks like Ninty also has Nintendo Switch themed magazines too, so you could turn your mailbox into a magazine firehose if you want to.

Switch Player Magazine

@humbird0 @OutofPrintArchive 👋 Hi, I put together a crossword in the back pages of Switch Player. Nice to see all these mags discussed here. 😊

@OutofPrintArchive
European game history has always fascinated me. Things were a bit different over there compared to the US. So seeing that perspective could be a lot of fun.

@humbird0 oh absolutely!
Somehow online gaming discourse seems to be very US centric, so it can feel a bit disconnected when things were quite different in Europe.

Heck even in Europe, there was a lot of difference. Since I’m in Belgium for instance, I had very little experience with the British Microsystems.
Although I had a friend with a C64 and some other stuff.
I was always focussed on arcade games, consoles and portables.

@humbird0 oh yes.
I’ve been subscribed to Nintendo Force and Switch player ever since I came across them. Some really lovely stuff!
I also get Sega Powered: https://www.segapowered.com
As well as Retro Gamer since the very start. 😊

Sadly, we lost Sega Mania last month.

@OutofPrintArchive
I wonder if anybody will scan the Sega Mania magazines some day. It would be nice to be able to read them on the Internet Archive.

@humbird0
Most likely.
Although it won't be me unless the owners give me permission to do so.
I don't work on recent magazines as I don't want to get in the way of anyone making a living.
This past decade has been incredibly tough for magazines as a whole, so every little bit helps.

That's why I want to help spread the word on new releases.
But it's a little hard since I don't go to Twitter anymore, and I used to get most of my news from there.
Hopefully many of them cross over.

@OutofPrintArchive
It's okay to wait awhile, as long as we don't let it get forgotten.
