Major fucking earthquake just fucking hit. Still going in and off. Main I've lasted for about a minute straight.

Everything broken, cabinet doors open, been shit everywhere.

No lights anywhere. Fuck, here cubes another one.

Very very top of the San Andreas fault.

I wonder if San Francisco is still there 300 Miles South of here

Just in in the radio. Epicenter just south iof here in Ferndale 6.4 i think they said.

@tallship Scary. Do you have enough emergency supplies?

@msquebanh

It was kinda hairy, I grew up in L.A., so I'm no stranger to #earthquakes. This one was different.

Kitchen cabinets opened spilling most of my dishes, broken on the floor, stove, fridge, skidded into the middle of the room.

I could have charged my phone in my truck or fired up the generator, but chose to wait - power came back on about 12hrs later. Gas is back on so I've got heat, after a nearby leak was fixed.

Thanks to everyone who reached out with thoughts of kindness.

.

@tallship @msquebanh I think the following book by Dr. Bill McGuire should be required reading for anyone in a geologically active area: 'Waking the Giant: How a Changing Climate Triggers Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Volcanoes'.
@JackWolf @tallship I'm familiar with that book. My friend on Pender Island has a copy.

@msquebanh @JackWolf

I'll be sure to give this a sincere read.

In fact, in going to search for an outlet that sells a non-DRM version of it in .epub format, and if u can't find one, then I'll find a non-Amazon source for a hard copy.

Thank you very much for the suggestion Jack, and you too PhoenixSerenity, for the vouch!

Well it's been several hours and no aftershocks... Knock on wood 🤞
