#FreeCAD is such an amazing tool. This (unfinished) SO45 panel meter 3D model is the most complex assembly I've ever attempted, and would have seemed impossible to me just a few months ago. Not bad for an EE πŸ˜…
@signalskew wow, that looks super cool! Is this before assembly or are you using some kind of a parts exploder view?
@shom
It's hand exploded for now. But eventually I'll reset all their positions back to 0 and actually constrain them with the Assembly3 workbench
@signalskew neat!
Are you using the #realthunder fork of #freeCAD? I've been considering moving to that and using #Assembly3. I'm not doing anything complex at all and just stuck with #a2plus so far.
@shom
I was using asm3 for a while but recently installed the stock v0.20 since I was long overdue for an upgrade. Was crossing my fingers that they'd both merged by now, but since they haven't I'll install the latest asm3 since I do enjoy working with it.

@signalskew @shom The link work merged into upstream, and both Assembly3 and Assembly4 build on it.

Depending on how you modelled it, this might work really well with Assembly4. If you have or can add some of the obvious datum elements, it can be really easy to assemble.
