BART is the jankiest train in America.
snowka@DeliaChristina I haven’t ridden the BART since the 90s, but it seemed positively fancy then compared to the CTA in Chicago when I was there, and better than the T in Boston now. Must have really gone downhill!

The el wasn't perfect (especially when things caught on fire or it tipped over on the Loop.)
but the el experienced failure maybe a handful of times in 20 years vs the BART being a janky FAIL once a week since I moved here in 2017.
It's stunning.
