@gwensnyder: I kind of actually have some respect for Tom, in a very similar way to how I don't have any for Melon. He was weird, and definitely made mistakes, but he was also a reasonably competent engineer, and, with him having been one of the earliest people to build and run a recognisable Internet-era social network, I'm willing to consider a lot more of his mistakes to have been mere beginner's errors, and forgive them.
