My mum dropped her Samsung S7 phone, screen is busted and you cannot see anything. Hoping to recover the data but plugging it directly into a computer doesn't show a drive. Any ideas?

@Synick I think normally you could need to click accept on the screen for the USB to transfer files. Thats probs why it doesn't work.

You could go to a carrier's store and see if they got any special tools to bypass that

@babyfangs I am thinking that might be the case. Unfortunately, they are trying to push for a screen repair which is worth more than the phone 😂
@Synick Gotta stand firm and strong. Be like NO all I want is the data. Then maybe after we can talk about a new phone(Leave before that talk starts)
@Synick Samsung usually has some pretty sneaky cloud sync stuff enabled - I found my whole phone was on the cloud despite having (mildly) fastidiously disabled syncing. May be worth checking if that's happened regardless of your/your mums preferences.
@Synick get a replacement screen/digitizer on eBay? I've done this on older iPhones before with some success, not sure how easy the process is for Samsung.
