So I understand that the bird site has started blocking links to common/known Mastodon instances, and that doesn't seem like free speech to me. So... I did a thing. If you go to https://spacekaren.sucks it is now a URL shortener that blocks the twitter user agent. That means you can share that link that will redirect to your Mastodon account without the pouty baby stopping you. @dsilverman they made it so Twitter can't expand the link somehow. That's what defeats other shorteners. You might be able to post a Mastodon url once but not twice since Twitter will be on to you.

@pygmalion55 @dsilverman The shortener offers custom URLs as an option! So naturally I had to try it. We’ll see if this works from Twitter. Seems like it ought to be like any other link, but who knows.

I'm pretty sure their bots will be following all links and sussing out where they land. That was kind of Elon's point about linking to links to links to the Jet thing, that's not a loophole they'll leave open, if they're really banning all Mastodon links outright.

We could take a page out of the cyber attacker’s handbook and register domains with homograph letters that forward to mastodon.
