Started filling in #surveys again through YouGov to save up enough points to get gift cards so I can actually treat myself to something fun. Some of the surveys are actually quite interesting, but others remind me of why I took an extended break from it last time...

(Not an invitation to tell me how this data can be used for brokering and other crap; I am aware, but in my situation I take whatever free stuff I can get, and others might also like it as a form of #beermoney.)

@FiXato I do enjoy participating in research surveys. I used to do Prolific but stopped when I got more hours at work. It's fun when you don't feel any pressure to do the ones that are clearly just mTurk gigs masquerading as surveys.
@68km quite some of these are "what brands of [product-type] do you know, do you know these, and how likely would you be to buy these products next time", or "have you seen these films, and how did you / will you / won't you watch them? (cinema/VOD/streaming service/download without payment)", and I'm mostly okay with them. But occasionally you get the one that wants you to assign attributes to brands that just don't make sense, which really do my head in. No, your brand doesn't bring me joy or trust or feels wholesome... it's a brand, and it's there to sell me things; stop treating it as more than that...
But the film one I got earlier was actually interesting; even had a horror film I hadn't hear of before, and might actually watch if Netflix has it; if I can remember the name that is...

@FiXato yeah those brand ones are funny, I always wonder how many respondents actually say something other than "not at all" to all of those questions about "if this brand had a personality".

Prolific has surveys about psychology, mental health, and other more interesting things as well. Sometimes there are games that like, measure your implicit bias against a robot, or something like that

@68km does Profilic have a referral system? If so, feel free to share your referral link with me. It sounds and looks interesting enough to sign up. :)
@FiXato not anymore, but I appreciate the offer. I hope you enjoy it!
