You can follow hashtags! Just type into the search bar a hashtag you wish to follow and hit enter. Click on the hashtag you like, and then click on the plus sign in the upper right corner.

@Joe_Hill I don't use a 3rd party app, so it might be server dependent.
You could ask your admin if the server has the capability, and if not, is it something that's coming soon.
