A few weeks but still #NewHere question:

I have taken the advice to boost liberally. But now I realize I need a way to find my own past toots, (that are buried in a sea of boosts), in order to revisit or continue actual conversations.

I am aware of this tool:

But that doesn't show any of my replies. Is there any way to search for my original toots, and include replies?

@[email protected] One thing that can partially help: On the profile page there are 3 tabs. - Posts - Posts and Replies - and Media "Media" shows your posts without any boosts, but only if they have a picture attached. . Another thing that works well, but requires planning: On one of my other mastodon accounts I took a preemptive approach and put a specific hashtag in all of my own posts, so I can find them using that. For example: #by_yourUserName #MastodonTips #HowToMast #HashTags #Search

@[email protected] In my opinion, it's probably best to only add your HashTags to the first post of a thread, unless one of your replies is also useful as a stand-alone post. Just make sure your reply with the hashtags is set to "public." But if you go back to edit an "unlisted" reply, it won't let you change it to public. (For example, this reply might be helpful by itself if it shows up in a search, without needing to read the thread it's from) #Mastodon #Search #MastodonTips #HowToMast #HashTags
