@ZekeMD So you know your efforts were not in vain... the quick skim made it clear you were working to advance #healthequity and you are likely to have OPINIONS about apples. I'm here for both. #TeamHoneycrisp

@sarahewalsh

Thanks!!

Not sure if you're from #Minnesota, but if not, I'm impressed you know #Honeycrisp is from here!

That being said, I'm very much on Team #SweeTango πŸ’š 🍎😚

@ZekeMD I'm in Michigan, so I've tried the SweeTango from the grocery store but our local orchards grow Honeycrisps. Generally speaking, off the tree > off the shelf

@sarahewalsh
I don't visit #Michigan very often, but interestingly I came there about 5 years ago for conference in Grand Rapids and the first billboard I saw leaving the airport was #SweeTango. It really warmed my heart.

Then again, Eastern Michigan is the #FruitBelt so... πŸ˜…

@ZekeMD On a road trip last summer, we randomly stopped at a restaurant in Mankato that was run but a woman who had attended the same Michigan high school as me. I think MI & MN are more alike than they are different
@ZekeMD @sarahewalsh it's so hard to decide between the two because they are different. I like them both and which one I pick to eat is based on my mood. The problem with Honeycrisp apples is if they aren't grown in the right climate, they can be sub-par, but a Minnesotan grown Honeycrisp is so good. Wasn't the SweeTango designed to solve that?

@bryanhansel @sarahewalsh
So true about how they're grown.

Didn't know about #SweeTango being developed for that purpose... very interesting if so!

@ZekeMD @sarahewalsh I thought I heard that it was because some of the Honeycrisps being grown in Oregon weren't as crispy as those in Minnesota.
