Finally got myself a #MechanicalKeyboard, and I absolutely love this thing.

@Rekkert Welcome to the hobby.
I only got into it a couple of years ago, but it was honestly such a good thing to do. Makes Working from the PC all day long (and gaming most nights) so much more enjoyable.

#MechanicalKeyboards

@paulomalley Yeah, it took me a while to find a compact layout I could use, as I really need the numpad, but it's such a better experience hahaha

@Rekkert @paulomalley MY PEOPLE! I went down the #MechanicalKeyboard rabbit hole a few years ago, tried so many different boards. I LOVE the hobby. Too busy as a dad of 4 to play with them as much as I want. Found my endgame and I've been happy with it for quite some time.

What kind of switches do you like?

@herchenroder
I can't speak for @Rekkert, but I am a big fan of #Tactile switches. My main board at the moment is a #GMMKPro with Glorious Panda switches, but I also have an #NK65 #Milkshake which uses some super smooth linear switches.
The NK65 is basically my "travel board" and comes to the Office with me.

#MechanicalKeyboard

@paulomalley @Rekkert ha ha yes - a travel board! I used to keep a full size board at work and another one at home. I thought about trying a TKL but I need that numpad.

I'm also a fan of tactile. I grew up on a Compaq rubber dome board that felt like a clicky switch because the domes had a real nice snap to them. Closest I came to reproducing that is Cherry clears. I tried Browns, too soft, Blues too loud, Blacks and Reds no feedback, they just bottom out.

@paulomalley @Rekkert I never ventured into anything but cherry mx switches because of availability. Not waiting months to try new switches. And a full board is expensive! I went through seven or eight boards before I settled on this Ducky. How many do you own?
@herchenroder
Currently just the two, I sold a couple of others. I'm currently fine with the two I have. 😄👍
@Rekkert
@paulomalley @Rekkert yeah once you find what you like, they tend to last quite a while!
