There is a super annoying thing I experience often as a #woman. When in a group of #people, maybe five or six, and there is a conversation going on and I know a good deal about the subject. If I try to speak up or answer a question, quite often the one asking will not really believe what I say, and will instead turn to a #man in the group for an #answer or other input. Even when I have more #knowledge than said man. I try to be patient but sometimes it really #pisses me off. #discrimination
@Cynthia mom says yes, happens to her all the time (I should reply from my human account but I’m not following you there yet lol). Being a woman in science is an exercise in patience and frustration
@Cynthia About 10 years ago at a fund raiser for #Democrats I was speaking to three men, and another cut right in front of me as I was speaking. My face was literally inches from the back of his! And forget about it when I talked abrupt #climatechange impacts with my fellow #scientists when #fracking was introduced. They refused to accept that the short term global warming potential of #methane could throw us into a new and dangerous climate state. Now we pay the price of their #denial
@JackWolf Ugh how totally rude! And yes our poor planet is in terrible danger. 😕
@Cynthia It’s funny when people look to me to be that authority, and almost always - I have absolutely no idea we’re talking about ;)
