Just had a squizz at half-a-dozen media articles about Labor's election review report and only one--Sky News website--linked to the actual report.
It is incredible to me that in 2022 media refuse to do their readers the courtesy of providing this information.
The mindset is still paper, not digital.

@timdunlop drives me nuts when news sites talk about a recent report and don't link to it - I mean, I get that linking to the report defeats the purpose of having them analyse it inaccurately which is largely the business model, but still...
@talopine But I don't think it does defeat the purpose: it enhances it. But you're right, that is the mindset: they are worrying about people leaving their site. It is a self-defeating logic imho. If you provide people with information and resources, they are more likely to consult you.
@timdunlop @talopine there's a degree of inherent patronisation too, where these organisations believe their readers are unable to plumb the depths of said reports alone...
