(Funny backstory: When my friend launched, the conditions were perfect and calm. I wanted to launch 2 minutes later, and just at that moment the wind turned and increased in strength. After multiple failed launch attempts due to strong, gusty wind from the back, I gave up and had to walk down for over 2 hours... You can't always win 😜)

It's not like I had a choice 😄 To be honest it was a pretty bad situation, because of high avalanche risk at that advanced time of the day, and having to cross a short >35° slope all by myself. In hindsight my biggest mistake was not looking at the wind forecast for the entire day, only morning and noon. I'll do better next time.

Wow looks great, bummer you had to walk down. Is it common to go ski touring and fly with skis? And ski down in case of bad conditions.

Yeah, quite a few people do that. I can't ski myself, so I started using snowshoes instead.
