I'm getting the "are you kidding? I get to witness love among Black people? their own community of hope and creativity and humor and power?" over here on mastodon. It was one of the greatest experiences on twitter. My offline life is mostly all white people (typical white USA'n). It's such a gift to bear witness to the wide wide wide ranging Black cultures.

@serenebabe Hey, friend. I once read an article titled something like "Racism is Bad; Being Black is Not." I'll try to find it and share it. Seems like folx are learning that, and that's a good thing.

Meanwhile, I'll follow your hashtag and silently cheer for the work you're doing to help others unpack the "burden."

Step by step. 💖

@ThatAuntie I’ll google it! thanks for the lead and the reply. it’s such messy stuff and so much better than the tightness of whiteness.
@ThatAuntie ps I haven't found it, yet, though I'm getting some interesting reads... if you do come across the one you're thinking of, I'm definitely interested!

Found it!
