Sunday morning, just me and the dogs. Let's play!

You got questions, I -- might -- have answers. Fire away and, if you are so inclined, please...boost it along.

@JeffLieber with Hollywood shutting down for the let’s circle back after the holiday season, what’s the best move for those of us in the writer wilderness to make headway during the down time? Thx!
@Bogeyguyc The goal is to have a process that supersedes anything Hollywood is doing, meaning...if you treat this thing as a job...and commit to 2-3 hours in the chair every day...then you will keep moving forward even when the industry turns a 3 day weekend into a six day weekend. Your job is just to embrace the creation and keep making stuff, because its what you can control.
@JeffLieber @Bogeyguyc Rightly or wrongly, always think the only control a screenwriter has initially is getting their butt in the chair and what goes on the page/PC monitor. Having said that, given it’s a blank page any damn thing can happen in that space. Both the joy and terror of screenwriting.
@NomadicWriter @Bogeyguyc The cure to the blank page is to make typing nonsense PART of the journey. Like, this here...us tooting (oy) is part of my three hours. Because I'm talking about what we do, which means I'm thinking about what we do, which will turn into...something. As long as I'm typing characters, I'm creating and some of this typing will eventually turn into something else that's more substantial.

@Bogeyguyc @JeffLieber A bit like mining for gold; you’ve got to pan through a lot of crap to get those gold nuggets on the page, but you’ll only do that if you’re prepared to go mining for gold in the first place. Not entirely sure that’s a great analogy on my part BTW.

You can always recycle some stuff for later use on a different project.

@JeffLieber What have you personally found helpful for improving your screenwriting?
