Here's a screenshot from a game I've been working on sporadically for the past three years. The idea is to combine exploration, meteorology and sustainability. I used the project to learn #Unity and #CSharp, and to gain experience with #ProceduralGeneration, #ShaderGraphs and #DataOrientedProgramming.

I hope to finish it someday but it's been a great learning experience if nothing else.

@joelodge This looks great! Do you have any more details about the game?

@JonathanCR I haven't written about it before beyond sharing with friends so I don't have anything to link, but in short you play a young meteorologist who is asked to help various islands predict, prepare for and protect themselves against storms that frequently plague this part of the ocean.

The storms aren't all they seem but that's part of the story that plays out as you explore each island and start to connect the dots between the measurements and observations you make.

@JonathanCR I'm more comfortable with algorithms than with narrative so I have a tendency to focus on the island generation scripts rather than the story or even the gameplay which is part of the reason the game isn't finished!

I've since started a more simple 2D hexagon tile game which is giving me practice on the gameplay side.

Appreciate your kind words. I do hope that I can finish the project at some point—maybe a resolution for 2023!

@joelodge This sounds fascinating and really original. Definitely keep going with it!
